Chop Suey is a sample editor that allows you to create your kick from the transient, body and tail components in no time at all. Drag and drop your favorite kicks into the appropriate slots for the components and you'll have the right transitions and phase progression for your kick drum in just a few seconds. Everything is where it should be and you can focus on your track idea. Sounds too good to be true? We have even more features in store!
Crossfading instead of layering!
With our new kick plugin Chop Suey, you work in the horizontal view. This means you edit the linear, temporal progression of your kick drum. That's why this workflow is not actually layering, because layering means layering sounds on top of each other. With Chop Suey it's different; here we line up the transient, body and tail components to form our individual kick drum. This is how you create unique patchwork kicks or vintage fusions that make your sound extraordinary!
Pure phase kicks - fast & intuitive!
With Chop Suey, you'll have no problems with the phase progression of your kick drum. This is thanks to the Phase and Offset controls, which allow you to blend the phases smoothly. Chop Suey offers you unique visual feedback on the phase of your kick. The crossfade markers also help you to avoid overlapping your kick samples so that the transients of the kick are not swallowed up. Skew & Zoom gives you a detailed overview of your kick so that you can intuitively merge the transient, body and tail components.

Chop Suey shows you the pitch of the root note of your kick drum so that you know exactly what the anatomy of your kick drum is. You can also play a 4/4 pattern directly in the plugin and synchronize Chop Suey to the tempo of your DAW. You can use the Beef and Glue controls to distort your kick, while the Punch Protect function protects the bass part of your kick from distortion. To keep control of the leveling, you have Gain for adjusting the modulation level, an optional clipper as a creative tool and OUT for adjusting the output signal.
